Padma Lakshmi, the first transgender lawyer in Kerala, wants to represent the underprivileged.

The first transgender lawyer in Kerala, Padma Lakshmi, enrolled as an advocate with the state’s Bar Council.

She told PTI that she chooses to disregard any sort of negativity, whether it comes from people or their remarks, and instead concentrates on the positive. She believes that this attitude gives her an advantage since if she were to focus on negative aspects, it would consume all her time and prevent her from progressing in life.

According to the minister’s post, Padma Lakshmi was among over 1,500 newly graduated law students who obtained their bar enrollment certificates at an event organized by the Bar Council of India on Sunday. As reported by PTI, Padma Lakshmi earned her law degree from Ernakulam Government Law College.

The news of Padma Lakshmi’s enrollment as the first transgender advocate in Kerala was shared by State Industries Minister P. Rajeev on his Instagram account along with a photo of Padma Lakshmi holding her enrolment certificate. Around 1,500 lawyers, including Padma Lakshmi, enrolled on Sunday. Minister Rajeev congratulated her for her perseverance in overcoming life’s obstacles to achieve this milestone.
