The Legal and Client Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance and a seamless onboarding experience for clients. By effectively managing legal requirements, conducting due diligence, and fostering strong client relationships, the specialist contributes to the overall success of the organization’s client onboarding piece

Roles & Responsibilities

Legal Compliance:

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance during the onboarding process.
  • Review and verify legal documents, contracts, and agreements to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to address any legal issues or concerns during the onboarding process.

Client Onboarding:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the client onboarding process, including the collection and verification of required client information and documentation.
  • Liaise with various internal departments, such as sales, operations, and legal, to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for clients.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, address queries, and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.

Relationship Management:

  • Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a primary point of contact during the onboarding phase.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and expectations, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and legal requirements.
  • Foster positive client relationships by providing exceptional service, addressing concerns, and ensuring prompt resolution of any issues.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and streamline the onboarding process to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and improve client satisfaction.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus.
  • 2 years of legal experience is mandate
  • Solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to client onboarding and compliance.
  • Experience in conducting due diligence and knowledge of KYC and AML procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, identify issues, and make sound recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
