A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by the Hindu Sena on Friday calling for a ban on the newly released film ‘Adipurush.’ The writ petition stated that the film should not be exhibited to the public.
The Hindu Sena has also urged the court to remove all the scenes where derogatory and improper language has been. It is mentioned in the petition that the Hindu Religion has been wrongly portrayed in the film hurting the religious sentiments of people.
The depictions of the religious figures in the film are totally opposite to those in the original epic by Maharishi Valmiki, it has been said in the petition. Vishnu Gupta, the president of the Hindu Sena adds that the petition has been filed on the behalf of the public.
‘Adipurush’, released on 16 June 2023, has been facing criticism from the audience and netizens for the inappropriate portrayal of the characters and the poor VFX used in the movie. It has been directed by Om Raut and stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Devdatta Nage in the leading roles.
