The Delhi High Court on Monday announced its plans to plant as much as 10,000 trees across the city to make the city greener and environmentally healthier.
Justice Najmi Waziri talked of all the benefits which these trees will be providing to the future generations to come by giving out cleaner Oxygen. He has stated that money deposited in the Court through all the writs and petitions, which amounts to about ₹80 lakh right now, will be utilised for this project.
Four lawyers have also been appointed to identify the soil type so that different trees can be planted according to the different types of the soil. The State Government of National Capital Territory of India (GNCTD) has been directed to take this project further in accordance with the Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF and with the help of the PWD.
This project plan is a brilliant step towards a greener, cleaner, and hence healthier world. Considering the current state of the Capital city’s air quality, the project seems to be a much-needed thing to do.
