Leaders of the two warring factions in Sudan agreed to a three – hour humanitarian crisis on Sunday after the World Food Program ( WFP ) announced that three aides were killed in the conflict . The organization announced : I am deeply saddened by the loss of three World Food Program staff who are doing life – saving work at the forefront of global hunger in the crisis in Kabkabiya , North Darfur on Saturday , April 15th . and pain . Two WFP workers were also injured in the same episode. We grassed the families of ingredients of this group and sat by them and our exclusive WFP blood during this time of debacle . The army said late Saturday that its forces had captured an entire RSF base in Omdurman , while residents of the town carried out heavy air strikes against the army’s presence in and around the city , which continued into the night . They said gunfire and explosions could still be heard from many parts of Khartoum . Khartoum residents talked about violence . ” There are fires and explosions everywhere . We have never seen such a conflict in Khartoum before , ” said Amal Mohamed , a doctor at a public hospital in Omdurman .

While international powers such as the USA , China , Russia and the United Nations called for an immediate ceasefire , neighboring countries and regional organizations also called for a solution .

The clashes over the weekend came after major tensions over RSF’s integration into the armed forces delayed the signing of an international agreement supporting democratic transition . The situation could further destabilize Sudan , already grappling with economic collapse and internal strife , and lead to an election campaign .
