The Allahabad High Court has taken disciplinary action against the jamadar who used a PayTm QR code to collect tips from advocates while on court property.
Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal took the situation seriously and demanded that the jamadar, who was an employee of the Court of Justice Ajit Singh, face consequences.
The Allahabad High Court suspended a bundle lifter/court jamadar on Thursday for accepting payment via PayTM from advocates within the courthouse.

Justice Singh said in a letter to Chief Justice Bindal that Rajendra Kumar-I, the jamadar, was wearing a PayTM wallet/QR code around his waist to collect tips from counsels working in the Court.
According to the suspension order signed by Registrar General Ashish Garg,
“Under the order dated 29.11.2022 of Hon’ble the Chief Justice, passed after considering the letter dated 29.11.2022 of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajit Singh, wherein strict action against the Court Jamadar, Sri Rajendra Kumar-I, Emp. No. 5098, Bundle Lifter, attached with His Lordship, for using paytm wallet in Court premises has been desired to be taken, Sri Rajendra Kumar-I, Emp. No. 5098, Bundle Lifter, attached as Court Jamadar with His Lordship is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.”
He will be assigned to the High Court’s nazarat (process serving agency) division for the duration of the suspension and won’t be allowed to leave the building without the Registrar’s prior permission.
The suspension order further stated that the jamadar would receive a subsistence allowance during the suspension term, but only if he provided a certificate stating that he was not working in any other jobs or engaging in any other businesses.
