The Supreme Court of India has launched a new portal called SuSwagatam, which allows visitors, litigants, and journalists to apply for electronic passes to enter the court’s premises. The portal, called SuSwagatam, offers a seamless and straightforward process for visitors and litigants to obtain paperless e-passes for official or case-related purposes.
Chief Justice Chandrachud announced its launch before Article 370 abrogation case hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also welcomed the initiative. The platform offers advanced features to eliminate cumbersome procedures and is a cloud-based software with an easy-to-use graphical interface and robust security measures.
The primary objective of the SuSwagatam portal is to outline the workflow for Visitor/Litigant roles and the associated processes. A dedicated dashboard will be available for each pass category, and the E-Pass can be valid for up to 30 days for counsel, journalists, law clerks, and staff applying for it.
