The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea seeking to declare the Congress manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as unfair and against the Model Code of Conduct, terming it as “misconceived”.

The Adarsh Prosecutor Kumar Agrawal and Dr. Seema Jain said that the Indian National Congress Manifesto was “unfair and contrary to a good code of conduct”; and take appropriate action against the Website in accordance with the law.
The petition prayed for declaration as null and void, the seats won by the Congress party. The Indian Electoral Commission and Rahul Gandhi in his capacity as President of the Indian National Congress were disguised as respondents in the PIL.
