Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed had a telephonic conversation between them for discussed the ongoing crisis in West Asia, particularly focusing on the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Expressing deep concerns about the deteriorating security situation and the humanitarian crisis in the region, the two leaders emphasized the need for an early resolution to the ongoing conflict and a lasting peace in the area. This dialogue took place shortly after U.S. President Joe Biden called for a “pause” in the conflict to facilitate humanitarian aid.
Prime Minister Modi stated, “Had a good conversation with my brother HH Mohammed Bin Zayed, President of the UAE, on the West Asia situation. We even had deep concerns about terrorism, the deteriorating security situation, and the loss of civilian lives. We agree on the need for an early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and that durable regional peace, security, and stability are in everyone’s interest India’s stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict has been characterized by a balanced approach.

While Prime Minister Modi condemned the attack by Hamas on October 7, he also held discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just two days after the conflict began. A few days later, Modi spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and expressed his concerns regarding the humanitarian crisis. Furthermore, India sent humanitarian aid to Palestine.
Approximately 28 days have passed since the conflict began, resulting in a devastating toll of over 10,000 lives lost.

On October 22, India dispatched humanitarian aid to war-torn Palestine. An Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft
transported approximately 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material to the people of Palestine. The aircraft landed at El-Arish airport in Egypt, from where it was intended to be transported to Gaza.
Meanwhile, as Israeli forces continued their presence around Gaza, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv on Friday to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Secretary Blinken emphasized discussions on Israel’s right to defend itself and their efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza. The United States is working with Israel to establish a mechanism for a series of humanitarian “pauses” in the Gaza War to allow essential aid to enter the enclave. This statement from Secretary Blinken followed U.S. President Joe Biden’s call for a “pause” in the conflict to enable the safe evacuation of hostages.
This diplomatic engagement comes at a critical juncture in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with international leaders actively seeking to alleviate the dire humanitarian situation and promote a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
