About the Event

The competition is a 7-day mega event with ADRCC and Law Fest of the Department of Law organized annually. The 4th edition is scheduled to be held from 11th March – to 23rd March 2024. The fest will host various academic, literary & cultural competitions that will witness the participation of students from law schools and universities pan-India. Justice J S Verma Memorial ADR & Client Counselling Competition seeks to encourage the effective use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and to promote an open exchange of ideas, experience & technical know-how between students and legal professionals.

The competition aims to combine the use of ADR and collaborative problem-solving skills of law students so as to successfully represent the litigating interests of parties and thus, proceed toward conflict resolution. We believe that this competition will foster an environment of understanding and encourage students to adopt better and faster means of dispute resolution.

Alongside, the Department also presents National Law Fest- NAVITAS which involves various literary and cultural competitions namely – Judgement Writing Competition, Constitution quiz, Extempore Moot Court Competition, Creative Writing Competition, Article Writing Competition, Harmony- Solo Singing Competition, Folklore- Traditional Dance Competition, Footloose- Western Dance Competition, Am I Picasso- Digital Art Competition, Mic Maestros-The Open Mic Competition, Glamouresque- The Fashion Show Competition & Symphony- The Battle of Bands.

This event is happening in collaboration with the family of Justice J S Verma, FSRI- Foundation for Sustainable Rule of Law Initiatives.

About ADRCC Competitions (11th March – 23rd March, 2024)

MAIMS 4th Justice J S Verma Memorial ADR & Client Counselling Competition seeks to encourage the effective use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and to promote an open exchange of ideas, experience, and technical know-how between students and legal professionals which includes competitions namely-

  • March 12, 2024: Preliminary rounds 1&2 (Online)
  • March 13, 2024: Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals (Online)
  • March 21, 2024: Finals (Offline)
  • March 23, 2024: Valedictory Ceremony (Offline)

  • March 11, 2024: Inaugural Ceremony (Online)
  • March 12, 2024: Submissions of Judgement Writing, Article Writing, Creative Writing & Am I Picasso
  • March 14, 2024:  Preliminary round of Folklore, Footloose, and Harmony & All rounds of Extempore Moot Court and Constitution quiz in online mode and Preliminary rounds of Mic Maestro in offline mode.
  • March 22, 2024: Final Rounds of NAVITAS Competition & GALA EVENING (Offline)
  • March 23, 2024: Valedictory Ceremony (Offline)

Prizes

E-Certificates of Participation shall be issued to all the participants. Rank holders shall be given certificates of merit and the following awards will be distributed during the valedictory ceremony:
