The Registrar General or in-charge of the Madras High Court, M. Jothiamaran issued a new and elaborate Code of Conduct for the judicial officers in suppression of the older codes issued in the years 2006, 2009 and 2010.

These codes instruct the judicial officers of the courts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to stop presenting things like bouquets, shawls, gifts, fruits etc to the judges. They also state that officers should not personally visit judges requesting a promotion or transfer. The officers are also ordered not to wait on the outskirts of the city to receive the High Court Judges when they come for a visit.  The officers are also not allowed to wear black coats and ties outside work.

Issuing these new codes of conduct, the Registrar General has now asked all the judges to share a copy of the conducts to all the judicial officers.
