In an extraordinary denial, the Kremlin has refuted claims of Vladimir Putin’s death at his luxury Valdai Forest palace, labeling them as baseless “lies.” This follows recent speculations of a ‘coup’ underway in Moscow, triggered by reports from a Telegram channel that had long been asserting that the Russian leader was terminally ill with cancer.

The Telegram channel, known for its persistent claims about Putin’s health, announced the alleged demise of the 71-year-old Russian President. It further insinuated that a ‘coup’ was unfolding, suggesting that Putin’s inner circle might attempt to pass off a ‘body double’ as the real president.

However, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for Putin, vehemently rejected these allegations. Speaking to state media RIA Novosti, Peskov referred to the reports as “an absurd information canard.” He also dismissed recent claims of a heart attack suffered by Putin and refuted any suggestions of the Russian President employing a doppelganger.

The situation remains fluid, with many questions surrounding Putin’s health and the stability of the Russian government. The Kremlin’s official stance is that President Putin is alive and well, and any claims to the contrary are mere fabrications. As Russia continues to navigate these unverified reports, the world watches with uncertainty, seeking further clarity on the matter.
