The Kerala High Court has recently established a Grievance Redressal Committee, led by Chief Justice SV Bhatti, with the aim of addressing the grievances raised by advocates practicing in the state.

The committee consists of the following members:

Chief Justice SV Bhatti

Justice A Muhamed Mustaque

Justice Somarajan P

Advocate General of Kerala

Chairman of the Bar Council of Kerala

President of the High Court Bar Association

According to a notice issued by the Registrar General, the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of addressing legitimate grievances related to the misconduct of any member of the lower judiciary. It is important to note that these grievances must be genuine and should not exert undue pressure on any judicial officer.

The Grievance Redressal Committee, under the leadership of Chief Justice SV Bhatti, aims to provide a platform for advocates to bring forward their concerns and seek resolutions. By addressing these grievances, the committee endeavors to foster a more supportive and conducive environment for the legal community in Kerala.

According to the notice, the formation of the Grievance Redressal Committee was based on a recent directive from the Supreme Court. The order, issued by a bench comprising Justices MR Shah and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, came after the Bar Council of India filed an application. The application sought the establishment of committees to address the issue of frequent strikes and boycotts by members of the bar, as well as to provide a platform for redressing their authentic grievances.
