Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, clients, distributors, and other stakeholders. Ensure that contracts are legally sound and protect the company’s interests.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, medical device laws, and industry standards (e.g., CDSCO, ISO, and other Indian laws).
  • Intellectual Property: Assist in the management of intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights related to the company’s products and technologies.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle and support in resolving disputes through legal channels, including settlements, litigation, or arbitration.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies, including regulatory filings, board resolutions, and other statutory compliance matters.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research on relevant issues affecting the healthcare device industry and provide timely legal advice to internal teams.
  • Advisory Role: Provide ongoing legal support and advice to internal stakeholders, including R&D, operations, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Litigation Support: Coordinate with external counsels on litigation matters, managing documentation and ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Risk Management: Help identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new product launches, contracts, and operational procedures.
  • Training & Awareness: Conduct training sessions for employees on legal matters such as compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory issues.

Requirement

  • Educational Requirements: LLB or equivalent degree from a reputed law school in India.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience as a legal associate, preferably with experience in the healthcare, medical devices, or SaaS companies.
  • Strong understanding of Indian healthcare regulations and medical device laws.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property laws, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Good understanding of corporate governance and compliance matters.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proactive, with the ability to handle pressure and changing priorities.
  • A keen interest in the healthcare industry and its legal landscape.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry and/or expertise in agreement drafting, particularly in the context of healthcare or medical device sectors.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations as they pertain to healthcare.
