Israel declared the UNSC (United Nations Security Council) designated Lashkar-e-Taiba a terrorist organization. Israel did this to symbolize the marking of commemoration of the 15 years of the Mumbai attack i.e., 26/11 terrorist attack. This terrorist attack took the lives of 166 and injured 238 people. The move to list Lashkar-e-Taiba a terrorist organization came from Israel as its own and a request was being made by the Indian side. Israel’s embassy on Tuesday mentioned that the State of Israel did all necessary procedures and completed all checks and regulations to declare Lashkar a terrorist group in their country. Israel embassy further says that this move is a condolence to the victim’s family and India by the State of Israel. Lashkar-e-Taiba was also banned in Pakistan after pressures from the USA and India in 2002. Indian Intelligence mentioned that these terrorist organizations collect money from common people in the name of charity and use it for terror works. Israel Embassy while elaborating on this mentioned that the list is all about terrorist operations with or within its borders or similar to the Indian border.

It was the start of the Israel-Hamas war when the Israel Embassy in India called all friendly countries of Israel to declare Hamas as a terrorist organization. In the Israel-Hamas war, more than 1400 people were killed in Israel and 11000 people were killed in Gaza. On 7th October, Hamas first attacked Israel and killed people with 5000 bombs.  In retaliation, Israel did air strikes on Gaza which took the lives of thousands of people. The people of India have supported Israel positively but the Indian government remained neutral. Israel wants India to declare Hamas a terrorist group.

India’s government as of now maintains a neutral stance in the Hamas-Israel war.  It would be difficult for India to declare Hamas a terrorist group. Hamas is supported by Iran, Turkey, Russia, China, Oman etc. It will change the position of India in this war. Israel still has not declared many UN terrorist groups and individuals as terrorists. India being a developing country, it would be difficult for the upcoming 4-5 years to declare Hamas a terrorist group.
