  • The Competition Commission of India headed by chairman Ravneet Kaur became a part of the prestigious 18- m members steering committee of the international competition network after the consistent effort. 
  • International competition network’s steering committee is the apex body which comprises 140 competition agencies. 
  • Basically it provides antitrust authorities with specialized venues for maintaining regular contacts and addressing practical competition concerns. 
  • For example – BRICS, hosted by India bi-annual conference of the competition regulators. 
  • The ICN is the only global body that works for competition law and its enforcement and members of the same represent national and multinational competition authorities. 
  • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) was established in 2009 by the Ministry of corporate affairs and it’s a statutory body that enforces the competition act, 2002.
  • The competition act, 2002 was amended by the competition (Amendment) act, 2007 , follows the philosophy of modern competition laws.
