India has launched’ Operation Ajay’ to deliver its citizens who are stranded in war- torn Israel. The operation aims to bring back these citizens safely to their motherland. India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, said on Wednesday that’ Operation Ajay’ has been launched to grease the return of Indians from Israel who wish to come back home. The move comes amid the ongoing military conflict between Hamas zealots and Israel which is now in its sixth day. Jaishankar stated that special duty breakouts and other arrangements are being made for the same. It’s estimated that around 18,000 Indians are presently abiding in Israel. Jaishankar emphasized India’s commitment to the safety and well- being of its citizens abroad and posted on X that the Indian Embassy has posted the first set of listed Indian citizens for the special flight on Thursday. dispatches to other registered people will follow for posterior breakouts, said the Indian Embassy in Israel. As the situation in Israel and Palestine continues to escalate, the Ministry of External Affairs( MEA) has set up a round- the- timepiece control room in Delhi and separate emergency helplines in Tel Aviv and Ramallah to cover the situation and give information and backing to Indian citizens. Following the escalation in the situation, the Indian delegation in Israel issued a premonitory, asking Indian citizens to exercise caution and observe safety protocols as advised by original authorities.
