Keyword- CLAT, UG Exam, Revised Format.

CLAT 2024, the entrance exam for undergraduate law admissions, will feature a reduced number of questions. Previously consisting of 150 questions, the upcoming exam will now have 120 questions. The decision was made by the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities during their meeting on May 20, 2023. The syllabus and duration of the exam will remain unchanged.

Candidates appearing for the UG CLAT 2024 will have the same two-hour time limit to complete the test. The 120 questions will be divided into five sections: English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. The announcement was made through a press release on June 15, and the exam is scheduled to take place on December 3, 2023.

In regards to the Postgraduate (PG) CLAT 2024, there will be no modifications to the syllabus or the number of questions. Anupama Joshi, Director of Law Prep Tutorial, welcomed the change, noting that it remains to be seen if the length of passage questions will remain the same. The reduction in the number of questions could potentially be related to a current case against the Consortium regarding the accessibility of CLAT in vernacular languages, including Hindi. Students are advised to await the release of sample papers for further analysis.

Overall, the decision to reduce the number of questions in UG CLAT 2024 aims to provide a fair and streamlined examination process while maintaining the existing syllabus and time duration for aspiring law students.
