Authorities have shut Seminaries for two days in Delhi due to a severe drop in the air quality. According to scientists the quality may deteriorate further in the coming two weeks. Delhi’s environment minister has called an exigency meeting to review the situation. Indeed though being the capital, Delhi is one of the most polluted metropolises in the world.  

Especially in the winter Delhi’s air turns further poisonous due to various factors like burning of crop remains by farmers, low wind pets and bursting of firecrackers during carnivals. On Thursday evening, the  attention of PM2.5-fine particulate matter that can clog lungs and beget a host of  conditions- exceeded the safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic metre by a seven to eight times in several parts of the city and its suburbs, according to government data. Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal soon announced that all government and private primary schools in the city would remain closed on Friday and Saturday.   

Delhi has also taken some measures to check this wrong. They’ve increased the frequentness of all public transport services, including the Delhi metro and electric machine services; they’ve also placed a comprehensive ban on the manufacture, trade, and use of firecrackers within the city. The practice has been in place for the last three times.  

Jugal Kishore, the head of the medicine department at the megacity’s Safdarjung Hospital, told” We’re recording a swell in the number of irritative bronchitis infections”. To PTI news agency. He also recommended people with respiratory issues shouldn’t step out until and unless it’s necessary to do so.

This terrible situation has led to  further problems for the citizens of Delhi.
