Recently there have been requests to the Biden administration to implement travel bans between USA and China, this was done with reference to the increase in respiratory illness in China.
This request was made by a group of senators, stating that the travel between USA and China should be restricted till the time dangers posed by this mystery illness are fully measured. This request was made because of the reported cases of unexplained cluster of Pneumonia in children.
This sudden call for such travel restriction is gaining international attention rapidly, and has led to World Health Organization requesting additional information on the status of this illness in China.
The increase in the respiratory illness is concerning as China is welcoming its first full winter season after lifting the Covid 19 restrictions. The rise in illness is being linked with the spread of pathogens such as, mycoplasma pneumoniae, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus and adenovirus.
The symptoms of the illness include fever, cough, cold. This situation is not overly concerning for doctors because after easing of the pandemic restrictions people, especially children in many countries are facing such symptoms which are considered treatable by doctors.
