Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, established in 2018 by the Madhya Pradesh National University Act, is dedicated to advancing legal education and research. DNLU emphasizes advocacy skills and professional ethics through practical learning methods. About ‘RANNEETI, National policy-making competition, 2024’

RANNEETI 2024, organized by EMPOWER at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur is a national policy-making competition that encourages legal minds to craft policies promoting the rights of minorities, children, and women. Conducted online, it offers a platform for innovative governance solutions.

Eligibility

  • Students currently pursuing 3-year or 5-year LLB courses.
  • Students pursuing a Master’s degree in law.
  • Students currently enrolled in any other courses.
  • Each participating team shall consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 3 members.

Themes

  • Legalization of Prostitution: Addressing Rights, Safety, and Social Implications.
  • Reevaluating the Age of Consent.
  • Gender and Religious Dress Codes: Legalization or Banning in Public and Institutional Spaces.
  • Criminalization of Marital Rape.
  • Addressing Online Harassment and Revenge Porn: Policies to
  • Combat Cyber Exploitation and Protect Victims.

Format of Policy Making Competition 

  • Preliminary Round: Judges will select the Abstracts based on the provided themes. 
  • Final Round: Selected participants will present their policy paper for 15 minutes, including a brief policy explanation and a Policy Impact Assessment, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

Submission Guidelines

  • Language – English
  • Format:-
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
    • Citation: Bluebook (20th edition), size 10 , 1 line spacing.
  • The one-inch margin on all sides of the document.
  • Word Limit of Abstract Submission – 400-450 Words.
  • Word Limit of Policy Paper – 2000 – 4000
  • File Format: PDF File

Registration Fee

  • Single Author: Rs 400
  • Co-Author: Rs 550

Prizes

  • First Prize “Best Policy”: Rs 5000 + Certificate of Merit.
  • Second Prize : Rs 3000 + Certificate of Merit.
  • Third Prize : Rs 2000 + Certificate of Merit.
  • Top 5 policies following the Top 3 Policies will be given a Certificate of Excellence.
  • The top three policy papers will be published on the official website of the Centre for Equality, Minority Participation, Children’s &
  • Women’s Rights, DNLU.
  • All the participants will receive an E-certificate acknowledging their participation in the event

Important Dates

  • Registration Begins – 16th October, 2024
  • Registration Ends – 6th November, 2024
  • Last date for Abstract Submission – 13th November, 2024
  • Result of Preliminary Rounds – 17th November, 2024
  • Final Round – 27th November,2024

General Instructions

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
  • The Policy Paper must be original, with a similarity index under 15%, and any breach will lead to disqualification.
