Chief Justice RV Malimath launched ‘Boond’, an initiative for the upliftment of the underprivileged in Madhya Pradesh. Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court have resolved to contribute a minimum of ₹5,000 from their monthly salaries to help the underprivileged in Madhya Pradesh.

With 33 judges at present, the total amount collected will be at least Rs.1,65,000/- per month and Rs.19,80,000 per annum. Every single paisa will go to the poorest of the poor across Madhya Pradesh.

The amount will be used directly to benefit those in need, such as purchasing essential commodities like food, water, clothing, and assistance in cases of exigencies. The judge made the announcement during the flag hoisting ceremony held at the High Court on Independence Day. He emphasized the importance of the judiciary contributing beyond the judicial sphere and giving back to society, not just during natural calamities.

The initiative ‘Boond’ aims to make a difference to the ocean, as a humble drop makes a difference. No donations from outside sources will be accepted, as this is solely a contribution from the Chief Justice and sitting judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
