About the Job Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for an Associate Counsel who’s ready to wear two impressive hats – in-house counsel for a tech company, and legal tech innovator. As part of our in-house legal team, you’ll dive into contract negotiations, drafting, and review while ensuring compliance across business functions. What’s more: you’ll also be at the frontier of legal technology, collaborating with our team to build and enhance cutting-edge legal tech solutions for our global customers. If you’ve got approximately one year of law firm / in-house experience, an appetite for solving complex problems, and get unreasonably excited about the intersection of law and technology, you’d be a great fit.

Job Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, such as customer and vendor agreements, consulting agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
Provide legal guidance and support to business stakeholders on cutting edge issues such as technology, IP, data protection, as well as on the more traditional commercial, employment, and corporate matters.
Work with legal tech in-depth along with your own legal skills to maximise outcomes.
Collaborate with teams in developing tech offerings which overhaul how legal counsels function.
Learn about and stay on top of relevant laws, developments in the legal tech industry, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement contract management policies and procedures.
Support the company in other corporate and commercial work including due diligence, privacy issues and other global regulatory issues that arise.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree – BA LLB
In-depth understanding of commercial contracts is a must. The candidate should have around least 1 year of experience working as a specialist contracts counsel or a commercial lawyer.
Experience working with a Contract Lifecycle Management (“CLM”) tool is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in translating contractual language for various departments and stakeholders within the organization.
Ability to work independently and take initiatives, as well as handle projects based on requirements of the legal team and business stakeholders.
Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate to Bangalore.
