Job Responsibilities:
Managing a large portfolio of litigation, including commercial, labour (ESI, PF, minimum wage), civil, statutory, and criminal
Managing bad debt recoveries, including through IBC
Risk advisory to management/business/function heads on litigation and other legal matters
Identify and negotiate engagement with appropriate law firm and senior advocates to ensure a
Favorable, economical and timely disposal of matters
Advise external counsel on the company’s position on legal matters, attending conference with the advocates and oversee documentation for litigations
Reviewing RFPs, general and special terms and conditions of tender documents and advise the sales team on deviations to be taken while bidding
General contract reviews and negotiations with third parties
Drafting legal notices, replies and other miscellaneous drafting
Ensuring implementation of group policies, necessary reporting and repository management for all legal department documentation, management and litigation tracking
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Law (LLB) from a premier institute with at least 5-7 years’ experience specializing in litigation in a law firm or large corporate legal department
Excellent knowledge on labour laws especially related to ESI & PF, gratuity, minimum wage, shops and establishments, bonus, leaves, etc. (MUST HAVE)
Expertise in handling high-value labour-related litigations/matters such as domestic enquiries, PF (especially 7A enquiries), gratuity, Industrial disputes, terminations, overtime, ESI etc. (MUST HAVE)
Experience in managing high volume of litigation with litigation management tools
