About the International Seminar

S. S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, was established in1975, the International Women’s Year, with the mission of emancipating women through education.

The college is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year in 2024-25.

Since the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947, there has been a noticeable transition from whites to browns in India, accompanied by a series of reforms and transformations that have taken place in various aspects to develop an egalitarian India.

The most pivotal shift post-independence was the emergence of a vision – a vision of a society that guarantees social justice, freedom, equality, and fraternity for every citizen. Consequently, the country is marching ahead towards becoming a Vishwaguru.

Where the national education policy plays a crucial role and the Indian educational framework is returning to its INDIC origin to ensure success.

The INDIC wisdom is a profound quest for the interminable boon that is establishing its pervasiveness in the world. This unadulterated ancient knowledge, deeply rooted in our culture, has the potential to play a significant role in transforming modern Indian education and fostering a happier society.

INDIC Wisdom encompasses a vast array of knowledge systems, including Vedic science, yoga, Ayurveda, Jyotisha (Vedic astrology), Sthapatya Veda (Vedic architecture), and various spiritual and philosophical teachings.

These wisdom traditions have been passed down through generations, providing valuable insights into the nature of existence, human behavior, and the path to a fulfilling life. By understanding and appreciating these ancient knowledge systems, we can gain a deeper understanding of our cultural identity and the unique contributions India has made to the world.

The current education system in India primarily focuses on academic excellence and career prospects. While these are essential aspects, they often overlook the holistic development of individuals. INDIC Wisdom can help bridge this gap by incorporating values such as self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and spiritual growth into our educational curriculum.

In this league, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 encourages all stakeholders to link themselves to the roots through the integration of INDIC wisdom. NEP 2020 is taking care of the same through its four-tier National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2022).

Further, the Bhartiya Jñāna Parampara Vibhag (IKS), a dedicated division of the Ministry of Education at AICTE has been established to promote interdisciplinary research also to preserve and disseminate IKS for societal applications. All these endeavors have been going on to maintain a confluence of IKS and Contemporary Global Education.

This seminar focuses on raising awareness about varied aspects of Indic wisdom, Brainstorming Integration Strategies, Promoting Interdisciplinary Collaborations and Cultivating a sense of pride and responsibility of promoting Indic Wisdom at the global diaspora.
