Google was fined 15 million roubles (£164000)  on Tuesday for repeated refusal to store  Russian users data in server inside Russia a  Moscow court said. 

Russia is repeatedly clashed with foreign  technology companies over content censorship  data and local representation. This has been  going on ever since Moscow sent it’s armed  forces into Ukraine in February 2022. Google Russian subsidiary has been under  pressure in Russia primarily for two reasons ,  firstly for failing to delete content that Moscow  deems illegal and secondly for restricting access  to some Russian media on YouTube .

In August the US tech giant was ordered to pay  a 3 million fine for failing to delete allegedly  false information about war in Ukraine .
