The Allahabad High court issued order to Archaeological Survey of India ( A.S.I) to organize a scientific survey by usage of modern technologies of the “ Shiva linga” which was intentionally located in the Gyanvapi mosque area in Varanasi to know its age.
The instructions were issued the day before by Justice A.K. Mishra simultaneously allowed the modifications in the appeal which was put forward by four women Hindu pilgrimages in against the Varanasi court decision on 14th October where the appeal for organizing of scientific survey of Shiva linga for its carbon dating was denied.
The High Court ordered the usage of modern technologies like Group penetrating Radar and excavation for determining the age of shiva linga through carbon dating method.
The Revisiers also want to know the future orders to A.S.I to describe its stance by the ordering of committee for scientific research to know the age, Nature and other features of the Shiva linga by the usage of earlier described techniques.
The Decision of Varanasi High court was opposed and a appeal was registered in the high court of Allahabad in November of the 2022.
