The Central Administrative Tribunal has been ordered by the Delhi High Court to make a ruling on the request to lower the cut-off for the second phase of the Civil Services Examination administered by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2023 as soon as possible.

The tribunal has been ordered by the court to convene an immediate hearing that would include all parties and interested parties. A decision could be rendered before the next hearing in the case, which is set for July 6th.

The vacation bench’s judges, Justices C. Harishankar and Manoj Jain, emphasised the urgency of processing the petitions submitted by the Civil Services Examination participants.

The bench Is not currently making any temporary orders in this matter. The tribunal’s judgement from June 9 that denied the students’ request for a lower threshold without enabling any arguments to be made had been contested by the pupils.

The bench has asked the authority to quickly and equitably resolve the issue while responding to the students’ appeal. The students contend that as this situation demands rapid attention, its settlement must likewise be hastened.

In light of the fact that a judgement in their favour would significantly affect the thousands of participants, they suggest temporarily withholding the findings. Consequently, such a move would be in the general interest.
