The Delhi High Court has issued an order of plantation of at least 10,000 trees in order to utilize over Rs. 80 Lakhs that were deposited in the Court as costs imposed on the defaulting litigants in different cases, whether it be contempt or several writ petitions.
This move was promulgated by the court to state that the benefits these trees would provide would provide to Delhi for generations in the form of fresh air would be of high importance. Justice Najmi Waziri stated that trees would not only provide us fresh air but would also take up the pollution of the city which has made the whole city difficult to live.
The Court further mentioned that the status should be always updated through photographs also every six months by the Tree Officer and lastly lined the order to be heard on 7th of July.
