On Wednesday, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new High Court complex in Raika area, Jammu.
During his speech, Justice Chandrachud recognized judicial officers as frontline warriors and urged them to fulfill the expectations of the common man who seeks justice.
CJI DY Chandrachud also inaugurated a Document Management System (DMS) for the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and also National Service and Tracking of Electronic Process (N-STEP) for the district courts of these two union territories.
The event was graced by the presence of Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor BD Mishra, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Pankaj Mithal from the Supreme Court, and Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Meghwal, who participated in the event via video conference, provided assurance of comprehensive financial support and sufficient budget allocation to the J&K government for the enhancement of judicial infrastructure.
A video presentation showcased the functionalities of the Document Management System (DMS), while mobile phones equipped with the N-STEP application were distributed among the process servers to commemorate the official commencement of the initiative.
