About the Speaker

Prof. Menaka Sharma is a multifaceted legal professional with a rich academic and practical background. Currently a visiting faculty member at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai and Jitendra Chauhan College of law (JCCL), she is also a PhD candidate and a practicing advocate enrolled with the Bombay High Court.

Her career spans both industry and academia. She has held positions at prominent corporations such as Thomson Reuters and Mindcrest, gaining valuable corporate experience. With over eight years of teaching experience at esteemed institutions like SNDT, NMIMS Kirit P Mehta Law College, and Niranjana Majithia College, she is renowned for her ability to simplify complex legal concepts for her students. Her dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her involvement in paper corrections, paper setting, and other academic administrative tasks.

Prof. Sharma’s legal practice is equally impressive. She has honed her litigation skills through her work in various high courts and session courts across India, including Delhi, Pune, Calcutta, and Guwahati. This diverse experience equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian legal landscape.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Prof. Sharma is a committed environmentalist. As a dedicated volunteer with the Isha Foundation, she actively contributes to environmental conservation efforts, focusing on soil and river rejuvenation through tree plantation initiatives.
