Government Law College Thiruvananthapuram stands proud in the brilliance of a thousand legal suns, risen from its stellar existence of hundred and fifty legendary years.

The institution which was the brain-child of the Maharaja of Travancore, was conceived on 31st January, 1875, and has successfully carved out a golden niche in the legal fraternity and continues to pioneer in the field of legal education in the country.

About the Opportunity

The All India Moot Court Competition (AIMCC), the flagship event of Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, is renowned for its high standards and widespread participation from top law schools across the country. Over its 18 editions, AIMCC has become a hallmark for excellence in legal advocacy, attracting participation from top law schools across the country.

AIMCC provides a platform for budding legal professionals to showcase their research, writing, and advocacy skills through intricate and contemporary legal challenges. Participants are challenged with intricate and often contemporary legal problems, requiring them to display both their academic prowess and practical understanding of the law.

Participants navigate multiple rounds, starting with the Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round, judged by senior advocates and sitting judges

Eligibility

Law students enrolled in 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated LLB courses at colleges or universities recognised by BCI.

Location

The competition conducted in offline mode at Government Law College campus, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

Registration Process

A team of 2 or 3 can register through the Google form provided at the end of this post.

Important Dates

  • 10th October, 2024 – Brochure and proposition release, registration open
  • 9th November, 2024 – Registration closes
  • 10th November, 2024 – Last date for submitting clarification on proposition
  • 15th November, 2024 – Release of clarification on proposition
  • 5th December, 2024- Submission of soft copy memorial
  • 20th December, 2024 – Date of receiving hardcopy of memorial
  • 15th December, 2024 – Date to submit travel details
  • 23,24 & 25th January, 2025 – Competition

Registration Fee

The team should pay a registration fee of Rs. 5000/- and furnish the details of the same through the registration form.

  • 9th November 2024: Registration
