
- The Supreme Court of India has sentenced four convicts to life imprisonment without remission in the 1996 Lajpat Nagar bomb blast case.
- The blast killed 13 people and injured 38 others.
- The convicts are Mirza Nissar Hussain, Mohammed Ali Bhatt, Mohammed Shakeel and Mohammed Hussain.
- They were convicted of planting the bomb in a shop in Lajpat Nagar Central Market.
- The court said that the case was “rarest of the rare” and that the convicts deserved life imprisonment without remission.
- The convicts have been directed to surrender to the authorities immediately.
