About the Internship

Legal Vidhiya is inviting applications for its 4-Week Negotiable Instruments (NI) Drafting Internship Program. This internship is specially designed for law students, judicial aspirants, young advocates, academicians, and legal professionals who wish to develop practical expertise in Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, with a special focus on Section 138 cheque bounce litigation, legal drafting, and court procedures through expert-led live sessions.

Throughout the program, participants will receive hands-on training in the practical aspects of Negotiable Instruments Law, including the fundamentals of the NI Act, the essential ingredients of an offence under Section 138, drafting and replying to statutory legal notices, complaint drafting, procedural aspects of filing cheque bounce cases, summary trial proceedings, legal presumptions and defence strategies, mediation and compounding of offences, interim compensation, and practical case analysis. The internship also covers important statutory provisions and landmark judicial precedents to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of cheque dishonour litigation.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen legal drafting, litigation, advocacy, and legal research skills while gaining practical exposure to real-world cheque bounce proceedings under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Upon successful completion of the internship and all assigned tasks, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, recognizing their practical learning, professional commitment, and proficiency in Negotiable Instruments Law.legal development.

About the Speaker

Adv. Sakshi Aswal is a distinguished legal academician and intellectual property professional currently serving as a Law Professor at AAFT University, where she also handles Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) matters for the Fashion Designing Department. Combining academic excellence with practical legal exposure, she brings a dynamic and application oriented approach to legal education and intellectual property law.

She holds an LL.M. degree from O.P. Jindal Global University and has pursued advanced Intellectual Property training from globally recognized institutions including Harvard University and WIPO. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong foundation in legal research, innovation, and contemporary IPR practices.

Adv. Sakshi Aswal has also collaborated with reputed law firms such as Khaitan & Co. and IndusLaw, gaining valuable exposure to corporate legal practices and intellectual property matters. In addition, her experience as a Former Legal Editor at Manupatra has strengthened her expertise in legal research, content analysis, and legal documentation.

With a passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring legal professionals, she focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical legal application.
