About the Job Opportunity

RMLNLU invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for teaching positions in the Department of Legal Studies:

• Professor (Law) – Level 14
• Associate Professor (Law) – Level 13A
• Assistant Professor (Law) (Contractual) – Fixed salary with DA

The Assistant Professors will be appointed on a contractual basis for a period of three years, with potential for renewal based on performance. These positions are available under different reservation categories including UR, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in the field of Law
• Undertake legal research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to curriculum development and institutional academic initiatives
• Guide research students and participate in university development
• Assist in academic administration and interdisciplinary collaborations

Eligibility & Qualifications

Assistant Professor (Law – Contractual)

• Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks
• Qualified NET/SLET/SET or awarded Ph.D. per UGC norms
• Ph.D. exemptions apply under specific UGC criteria

Associate Professor (Law)

• Ph.D. in Law and Master’s with at least 55% marks
• Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience
• At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals
• Minimum API score of 75

Professor (Law)

• Ph.D. in Law with at least 10 publications
• 10+ years of teaching/research experience
• Successful Ph.D. guidance and API score of 120
• Outstanding professionals with proven research contributions may also apply

Additional Perks

Pay Scales (as per 7th CPC):

• Professor (Law): ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200 (Level 14)
• Associate Professor (Law): ₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100 (Level 13A)
• Assistant Professor (Law – Contractual): ₹57,700 + DA (No increments or additional allowances)
• University accommodation may be provided (subject to availability)
• Contractual roles are not entitled to HRA or annual increments
