Mumbai, work-from-office, 5 days a week
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the litigation portfolio, including ongoing and potential disputes. Manage pre-litigation matters to resolve disputes before escalation.
- To assist external counsels in providing for litigation, file any cases/writ, reply statement, affidavits. Manage external counsel for complex cases or matters requiring specialized expertise.
- Drafting of Legal Notice, issuing responses to notices, Cease & Desists, recovery notices, etc. Manage cases related to debt recovery, asset possession and breach of contracts.
- Appear before various courts, file statements, affidavits, plaints, and file complaints.
- Apply for Trademark, Copyright, Patents and maintain repository. Initiate actions against IPR infringements, file complaints before law enforcement authorities.
- Keep track of upcoming laws and implementing its compliance. Leverage business understanding/ functional expertise to deliver value to customer.
- Travel across India (on short notice) for conducting litigation matters and related activities.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Key Skills for the Role:
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contractual terms and interpretation.
- Ability to interpret, document and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in the organization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate legal issues and solution in an articulate, precise, and effective manner.
- Good organization and interpersonal skills including ability to multitask, adapt to dynamic situations, work efficiently within a team and people management in a fast-paced business environment.
- Ideal Experience Profile:
- LL.B. or equivalent from a leading Law School with work experience of 10-12 years.
- Work experience in the EdTech industry is preferred.
