Role Description
You as Junior Lawyer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Bengaluru, India. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Lawyer to join our Legal and Integrity Department for a fixed term of 18 months. You will participate in our specialized learning program, aimed at developing the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful legal career within a global company.
You will be exposed to a variety of legal matters and projects, with opportunities to be involved in local, regional, and global projects. As a Junior Lawyer, you will be part of our Legal and Integrity Department reporting to the Regional Head of Legal, South Asia, you will assist in the implementation of regional strategy and ensure full compliance with Group directives and local legal regulations.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Assisting the Regional Head of Legal and Country Heads of Legal in providing legal advice and counseling to Hitachi Energy management across a broad range of legal issues or within a specialist area, and manage dispute and litigation matters as directed.
Conducting legal research and prepare legal documents.
Supporting contract review and negotiation, including frame agreements, contracts, and partnerships.
Participating in the development and implementation of legal strategies.
Supporting good corporate governance at the regional and country level.
Supporting the implementation of the Code of Conduct and assist in ongoing integrity training.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, local legal regulations, and Group directives; assist with the implementation of both local and group legal and integrity directives and instructions, and monitor ongoing integrity, executing due diligence.
Contributing to the development and implementation of local and group legal and integrity directives.
Managing and communicating with external service providers, including legal counsels.
Participating in various local, regional, and global projects within the department.
Engaging in continuous learning and development opportunities through the Legal and Integrity learning program.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
Graduate degree in law.
5 years of experience.
Licensed to practice Law in India.
Demonstrated ability to be agile and keen to learn.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong interest in technology and process improvement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
