Role Description
Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: Bengaluru, India
A fast-growing healthcare technology company is looking for a Legal Counsel to drive its legal strategy and execution across jurisdictions (India & US). This role will cover contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management. The candidate should be business-oriented, solution-driven, and comfortable managing both strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with hospitals, vendors, distributors, and partners (India + US)
Ensure compliance with healthcare, data protection (HIPAA, DPDP Act), and medical device regulations
Manage corporate governance, secretarial responsibilities, and board policies
Support legal due diligence for fundraising, partnerships, and transactions
Identify risks, design internal controls, and implement compliance policies (data protection, whistleblower, code of conduct, etc.)
Provide legal training and awareness to internal teams (sales, operations, customer success)
Requirements:
Experience: 7–10 years of legal experience (healthcare, SaaS, technology, or startups preferred)
Qualification: LLB or equivalent (LLM or CS is a plus)
Skills:
Strong contract drafting & negotiation skills
Knowledge of healthcare, IT, data protection, and cross-border compliance
Ability to simplify legal concepts for business teams
Independent, proactive, solution-oriented, and adaptable to fast-paced environments
