It has been more than 40 days but still, there is no conclusion yet to the ongoing war in the Arab. United Nations brought resolutions to protect the civilians of Gaza, especially children and women. United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has lost more than 100 of its volunteers which is the highest number in any conflict. United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) says that there is a shortage of food in Gaza which will send people into starvation. More than 11000 civilians lost their lives in this war. But the question arises why did Hamas attack Israel? What did it want from Israel? Hamas says Israel is capturing land, and torturing Muslims in the West Bank but it has been happening for decades. But why did Hamas fire 5000 bombs on Israel, it knows that they can’t win. It is a saying that “Nothing happens in the world for no reason”. If we go one month back before the start of this war i.e., September we can memorise that India has successfully hosted the G20 summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. India with the US, Europe, and Middle Eastern Countries signed on India Middle-East and Europe Economic Corridor(IMEC). It is a sea-rail network that will connect India and Europe through the Middle East. The US is very interested in forwarding this idea because it will counter China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) project. It is also an alternative to the India-Iran-Afghanistan Economic Corridor i.e., Chabahar Port. Both China and Iran are affected by this project. In the IMEC project, Israel was part of it.
Due to the Israel-Hamas war, the IMEC project was delayed for an indefinite period. China and Iran both will benefit from this. Now, India again has to look to Iran to connect with Europe and there will be no counter project to China’s BRI project. The world knows Iran funds Hamas by all means and things. After the announcement of the IMEC project, on 7th October Hamas fired 5000 bombs on Israel. Hamas has created an obstacle that nobody knows when it will end.
