About the Event

The International Webinar on the Right of Persons with Disabilities to Access Knowledge seeks to address this critical issue by bringing together global leaders, experts, and advocates to discuss and promote solutions that ensure equitable access to knowledge for all. This webinar provides a platform for exploring the multifaceted challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the realm of education, technology, and information sharing. It also aims to highlight actionable strategies that can be implemented to break down the barriers that hinder their full participation in educational and informational ecosystems.

At the heart of this discussion lies the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), which enshrines the right to education, information, and participation in society for all individuals, regardless of their abilities. This event is an opportunity to reflect on the current state of disability rights, examine the progress made thus far, and identify gaps that remain in ensuring that the right to access knowledge is universally upheld. Over the course of this webinar, we will explore diverse perspectives on accessibility, from inclusive educational practices and assistive technologies to policy frameworks and societal attitudes. Together, we will learn how we can collectively address the challenges that prevent people with disabilities from fully accessing and contributing to the world of knowledge.

We invite you to engage actively in these discussions, share your experiences and insights, and collaborate with us in our shared mission to create a more inclusive, accessible, and just world for all. The right to access knowledge is not just about removing barriers it is about building a future where every person, regardless of disability, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
