About JICIL

The Journal of Innovation, Competition, and Information Law (JICIL) is a peer-reviewed law journal that focuses on the intersection between law and technology and covers within its ambit, intellectual property issues (such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights with a technological interface), antitrust issues in core technology sectors, as well as information technology and data privacy research.

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Innovation, Competition and Information Law (JICIL) dispenses the important role of reviewing manuscripts received for the Edition, from an existing literature standpoint, quality of research as well as novel contributions. The Editorial Board of JICIL comprises of the Review Panel (including Peer-Review Editors and Editorial Advisors) as well as the Student Board which handles day-to-day operations of the journal.

Call for Editors

Student Board: The role of Student Editors would involve handling manuscript, receipt allocations, and working on finalization of editions at the end of the manuscript process. They must also contribute to the discussions on theme of the edition and further engagement. 

  • Eligibility: Any student below 3rd year (of the 5-Year Law course) or 2nd Year (of the 3-Year Law course) and above may apply for Junior Editors, while those above may apply for Senior Editors. Student profile must reflect a strong interest in legal research and writing, while those with specialized interest in technology law would be given a preference.
  • Selection Process: There is a two-tiered selection process followed by the journal. Senior members would be finalized based on Resume Review, followed by Interview, while, Junior Members would be finalized based on the selection methodology and publication policy adopted by the Editorial Board.
  • Last date for applications is June 12, 2024.

Review Panel: The role of Peer-Review Editors and Editorial Advisors would involve review of finalized editions, manuscripts, where appropriate and required by the Student Board, apart from engaging in networking and driving discourse on the journal activities, apart from occasional audit and monitoring.

  • Eligibility: Any person who is an academician, advocate, corporate lawyer or any person who is in the legal profession having at least 2 (two) years of post-qualification experience may apply for the Review Panel. Academicians and those with technology law background would be given a preference.
  • Last date for applications is June 12, 2024.
