About the Book

“Navigating the Intersection: IPR and Commercial Law” is an edited book that explores the complex relationship between intellectual property rights (IPR) and commercial law, particularly focusing on the intersection of IPR with competition law.

The book highlights how these two areas, while seemingly contradictory, actually share common objectives such as promoting innovation, economic efficiencies, and protecting consumer interests.

IPR grants exclusive rights to innovators, which can sometimes lead to monopolistic practices, while competition law aims to keep markets open and competitive. The challenge lies in balancing these interests to ensure that the protection of IP does not hinder market competition
