On Thursday, Mahima Rai Singh, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CCM) of Rouse Avenue Court transferred the case of sexual harassment against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is also the Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI) Chief, to the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Harjeet Singh Jaspal. The matter will now be further considered on June 27 before the Court.
Delhi Police had filed a chargesheet against Brij Bhushan Singh on June 15 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the Rouse Avenue Court for offences such as sexual harassment and stalking. Another court was also approached for the cancellation of the case filed by a minor wrestler.
The wrestlers have been protesting in New Delhi for months now demanding some action to be taken against the WFI Chief by the centre. No serious action has been taken about the issue. Even the FIR has been filed by police only after the Supreme Court intervened in the issue.
