
The West Bengal High court supported the stoppage of screening of the movie “The Kerala story” by giving a statement that “ The movie promotes deceptive information and includes hatred statements in many ways which could result in breaking of ethnicity emotions and also result in riots and issue of law&order among groups.
The provincial executive body stated that “ We have taken the decision to stop the screening of the Kerala Story movie which results in violation of part 6(1)of the west Bengal cinema rules act 1954 additional there were additional intel reports which stated” that it could result in situations of riots and confrontation between ethnicity groups”.
The province was answering to a writ appeal registered by the producer of the movie, sunshine productions against the stoppage of movie shows which describes the involvement of questionable involvement of 32,00,000 Kerala women changed their religion due because there were influnced by wrongful means and enlisted into terror institution ISLAMIC STATE.
The province Government also challenged the approach taken by producer as the rules states that the producer should go to state high court then to supreme court .and also stated that intial appeals were decline by apex court.
During intial hearing the C.J.I challenged the decision of stoppage of screening of the movie and any other states are not facing any problems. The judiciary will also listen the appeal against Kerala court order to stop screening of movie.
The Kerala court considered the fact it was only showing real events and the central board of film ( C.B.F.C ) had permitted the screening of movie. Also stated the Appleant have not seen the movie and production department has stated a notification that “ movie based on non -real events”. The line which stated that 32,000 women being enlisted in Islamic stated will be deleted from movie.
