Position Details

About the Role

The selected candidate may lead and manage legal operations relating to:

• NBFC regulatory compliance
• Secured lending and mortgage transactions
• Litigation and recovery proceedings
• Legal risk management
• Corporate legal advisory

Key Responsibilities

Selected candidates may be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the legal department for NBFC operations
• Drafting, reviewing, and vetting:
  • Loan agreements
  • Mortgage documents
  • Vendor agreements
  • NDAs
  • Commercial contracts
• Handling:
  • Litigation matters
  • Arbitration proceedings
  • SARFAESI matters
  • Recovery-related proceedings
• Ensuring compliance with:
  • RBI regulations
  • Companies Act
  • Other applicable laws
• Coordinating with:
  • External advocates
  • Legal consultants
  • Law firms
• Providing legal support to:
  • Credit teams
  • Operations teams
  • Collections teams
  • Business teams
• Reviewing:
  • Property-related legal reports
  • Title verification documents for secured lending
• Monitoring legal risks and recommending corrective actions
• Managing empanelment and performance of legal vendors and advocates
• Supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the role should possess:

• LL.B. or LL.M. degree from a recognized university

Preferred Qualification

• Enrollment with Bar Council preferred

Experience Requirement

Candidates should possess:

• 10–15 years of experience in the legal function within:
  • NBFCs
  • Banks
  • Housing Finance Companies (HFCs)

Mandatory Exposure

• Loan Against Property (LAP)
• Mortgage lending
• SARFAESI proceedings
• Litigation management

Preferred

• Team handling experience

Preferred Skills

Candidates should possess:

• Strong drafting and advisory skills
• Knowledge of banking and finance laws
• Litigation and dispute resolution expertise
• Risk management abilities
• Leadership and coordination skills
