About the Organizers
The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has a distinguished legacy of over a century in
legal education and research. Established in 1883 under the vision of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Faculty
has produced numerous legal luminaries who have contributed significantly to the judiciary, legal
academia, and legal practice.
The Moot Court Society of AMU organizes various legal events, national and international moot court
competitions, workshops, and legal debates, providing law students with practical exposure to courtroom
advocacy.
About the Competition
The Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition – 2025 is designed to enhance the legal research,
argumentation, and advocacy skills of participants. The competition will simulate a real-life courtroom
experience, where participants will analyze a complex moot problem, research relevant laws, draft legal
memorials, and present oral arguments before an esteemed panel of judges.
This competition will witness participation from top law schools across India, providing students with a
platform to engage in a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating legal discourse.
Each team shall comprise two speakers and one researcher. Teams with only two members will not be
eligible for the Researcher Test.
Eligibility Criteria
● Undergraduate students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year B.A. LL.B. / BBA LL.B. degree
from a recognized institution.
● Only one team per law university/law school/college is allowed.
Team Composition
● Each team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher or two speakers only.
● Each team will be assigned a Unique Team Code (UTC) for anonymity, which must be used
throughout the competition.
● Teams must not disclose their institution’s name or logo in any memorials or submissions.
How to Register?
● Teams must complete and submit the registration form via the link provided below.
● After completing the form, the filled registration form must be emailed to
mootcourtsocietyamu@gmail.com.
● Once acknowledged by the Organizing Committee, the registration will be finalized.
● The registration fee is ₹2000 (to be paid via Demand Draft or Online Transfer).

● Last Date for Registration: 18th February 2025
● Last Date for Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 20th February 2025
● Declaration of Top 4 Teams (Memorial Evaluation): 22nd February 2025
● Competition Rounds: 1st March 2025

● Runners-up Team: ₹12,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate
● Best Speaker: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate
● Best Memorial: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate
● Best Researcher: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate
