According to Internet service provider association of nepal there are nearly about 2.2 million TikTok users in the country , The Nepal
government claims that this was taken over the concerns about tiktok impact social harmony in a letter to Nepals telecom regulator . Tiktok said that it routinely addresses content and behaviour that violates the community guidelines. According to report over 1600 cyber crime cases most of them related to tiktok Were in fact register over the last four years in Nepal.
many digital content creators who in fact earned and income through the Chinese app are up in arms against the government’s decision. This is that the ban has suppressed free speech holding placards and also shouting slogans, many TikTok users held protest. The tick tock is owned by the Chinese. several countries have raised concerns over its proximity to the Chinese government. India had banned TikTok along with more than 200 of the
Chinese app back in June 2022 in the aftermath of the Golden Valley clash.
