Bombay High Court is going to hear a Petition on July 18 which is challenging the order of the district collector Jalagaon. The collector banned the entry of people in the Jumma Masjid Mosque Jalagaon.
The Petition challenges and seeks for overturn of an interim order issued by the collector. The order banned the entry and prayer the Jumma Masjid of Jalagaon. It issued notice to the tahashildar to take charge of the mosque.
A petition was filed to the District Collector of Jalagaon by the Pandavwada Sangharsh Samiti. Additional sheds were installed as an extension to the existing mosque property. The Sangh stated that the surrounded area has historical association with the Indian History on Pandavas from the Mahabharat era. They further said that Pandavas spent few years in their exile in the area. On the other hand the Mosque claims that it is in existence from 1886 and is declared as ancient and historical monument and is also register under waqk board. The petition states that the order of the Collector is unjust and unwarranted. This matter will be heard by the Bombay High Court on 18th July.
