About the Speaker

Ms. Manisha Melkani, an accomplished academician and certified POSH trainer, currently serving as Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. With a rare multidisciplinary foundation, Ms. Melkani brings together expertise in law, political science, and economics to create an enriching and holistic learning experience for her students. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics, an M.A. in Economics, an LL.B, and is presently pursuing her second Master’s in Political Science. Her academic path reflects a deep commitment to understanding the intersections of governance, law, and social justice.

Ms. Melkani’s dedication to gender equity and workplace safety is evident through her active engagement in training and capacity-building around the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. She is a certified POSH trainer, having successfully completed the prestigious Trainers’ Training Certification Course conducted by Kalinga University in collaboration with the Indian National Bar Association (INBA). Her expertise is further reinforced by a specialized certification in Legal Provisions for the Protection of Women from The Law Learners. These credentials position her as a credible voice in gender justice education and policy compliance.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Melkani is a strong advocate of integrating legal education with social transformation. Her areas of interest include Constitutional Studies, Gender Justice, and Developmental Economics, with a particular focus on how these disciplines intersect to shape inclusive public policy and governance. Through her teaching, public speaking, and legal literacy efforts, she envisions creating legally informed and socially responsible communities. Ms. Melkani’s dynamic approach to education embodies the spirit of a true social engineer—empowering individuals not just with knowledge, but with the tools to make a tangible difference.
