About the Workshop

Legal Vidhiya presents a 3-Day Live Workshop on “One Cheque, One Case, One Conviction: The Power of Section 138 under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881” scheduled from 27 March – 29 March 2026.

This workshop is specially designed for law students, interns, young advocates, judicial aspirants, and legal professionals who wish to gain a practical, procedural, and hands-on understanding of cheque dishonour litigation under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

The workshop provides a step-by-step journey of a cheque bounce case, beginning from the issuance and dishonour of cheque, drafting of statutory demand notice, filing of complaint, recording of evidence, defence strategy, trial procedure, and culminating in conviction, compensation, and execution of orders.

Through statutory interpretation, drafting exercises, procedural breakdown, case law discussions, and practical courtroom strategy, participants will develop the confidence to draft, argue, defend, and successfully conduct proceedings under Section 138 NI Act.

About the Speaker

Mr. Nityanand Singh is an Advocate practising before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and a Fellow Member (F.C.S.) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He holds a Doctorate in Law and brings over 20 years of extensive experience in litigation practice. He is the Founder and Partner of the international law firm “NAKS Legal (Advocates & Solicitors),” which operates as a corporate law firm under a retail concept model and is presently handling litigation matters across more than 500 districts in India and abroad.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Singh is actively involved in social initiatives. He runs a non-governmental organization under the name “Vidya Vijay Foundation,” dedicated to the upliftment of underprivileged and needy individuals through support in education, social development, and improvement of living standards. The foundation is named in honor of his parents—his mother, Mrs. Vidyadhari Devi, and his father, Dr. Vijay Narayan Singh—reflecting his deep respect and commitment to their legacy.

Mr. Singh also contributes to academic and professional development as a Visiting Faculty at premier institutions, including the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and several reputed law colleges and business schools across India. Beyond his professional and academic engagements, he is socially and politically active and has contested the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections twice, demonstrating his commitment to public service and civic engagement.
